Offered by the Université Musical Hourtin Médoc, the International Music Academy allows young musicians to deepen their musical talent under the guidance of professors and prestigious artists. Trainees are offered idyllic accommodations, located along the banks of the largest lake in France.
The Academy is designed for graduate students from music academies recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. Depending on availability and at the teacher’s discretion, other students may be admitted. Each student is given an excellent instrumental coaching. Training rooms with piano accompanists are available for students.
Interns are accommodated on a full board basis, subject to availability, in 2 bedrooms flats (2 per apartment), in a 3* tourist residence, Odalys- acances (bed linen provided - towels not provided). Full board accommodation is compulsory for unaccompanied students under 18. Over 18, there is possibility to rent your own apartment (see: prices) or manage your own stay personally.

Spaces are limited and assigned on a first come first serve basis. Registration will be confirmed by email or by post to each student individually. Parents are welcome; there is the possibility of full board accommodation. Please check with the Academy for further details (contacts section)

Arrival on Saturday, reception at the train station (SNCF Bordeaux) from 1 pm where you will be welcomed by our team.
Departure on Sunday morning 8h30 from Hourtin for Bordeaux train station.

Payment of expenses
Each trainee will pay at the latest the day of arrival, all the requested expenses to the order of the UMHM.
The price includes :
• Reception of students on site or at the railway station of Bordeaux St Jean and back;
• Accommodation in a 3 * hotel residence a 2-room apartment to share with another trainee;
• Breakfasts, lunches and dinners;
• The final buffet;
• The BAFA framework for minors;

• The courses of chamber music (option 50 €);
• Accompanist pianists available;
• Piano class, supplement 90 €;
• Orchestra Rehearsals;
• Access to all student concerts;

Students must bring their desks, partitions and a concert suit.
Travel is part of the participant’s own expenses (free shuttle UMHM, Bordeaux / Hourtin to Bordeaux).
For non-French students, we recommend that you take a "health assistance and repatriation" (travel insurance) for the duration of the stay. Conventions of care may exist between France and your country of origin.
Interns and participants in the Academy are required to purchase insurance for their musical instruments. The UMHM cannot be held responsible for any theft or damage to musical instruments.
